Macleans College Z Club fundraises for Curvy Girls Scoliosis Foundation

Posted on August 05, 2024

Inspired by Stella Donaldson, a 16 year old diagnosed with scoliosis, the Macleans College Z Club held a bake sale to fundraise for Curvy Girls Scoliosis Foundation and to raise awareness of the important work carried out by ZONTA.

Stella was the guest speaker at a Macleans College Z Club meeting. Secretary of the Z Club at Howick College, she was diagnosed with scoliosis in 2022 and shared her journey of recovery with the group. Stella is the leader of Curvy Girls of New Zealand, a support group for females aged 8-18.

During the lunchtime bake sale an array of delicious home-baked treats were up for sale. At the same time Z Club members enthusiastically promoted the work undertaken by ZONTA, an advocacy group for equality, education and an end to child marriage and gender-based violence. Orange ribbons, in support of ZONTA, were also on sale.

The Z Club executive committee planned and organised all aspects of the event. Funds collected will be donated to the Curvy Girls Scoliosis Foundation in order for Stella to represent New Zealand at the 2025 International Curvy Girls Conference.

Thank you to all who charitably supported this worthy endeavour.
