On a rather wet morning last week, the Year 13 Police Studies class were treated to a visit from Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ).

Phil Larcombe, Assistant District Commander, Counties Manukau, described the work FENZ carry out, their achievements and the requirements to enter this pathway. He discussed the close partnership shared by FENZ and the New Zealand Police, describing incidents where the two organisations collaborated towards successful outcomes.

The experience provided students with an opportunity to explore careers related to the New Zealand Police.

This is the fourth year Macleans College is offering the Year 13 Police Studies course, which is now a prerequisite for anyone wanting to apply to join the New Zealand Police.
