Year 12 Geography Trip to the Waitomo Caves
Posted on April 06, 2018
On Wednesday 28th March, 42 Year 12 Geography students and their teachers visited the Waitomo Reserve.
The trip consisted of two days at the Waitomo Reserve. On the first day, the students explored the Waitomo Caves through black water rafting, seeing many different types of limestone and glow worms. They saw some amazing parts of the cave and had hands on experience to touch and view the texture of the caves. The students found black water rafting to be the most enjoyable part of the trip. They stayed at a local motel where they enjoyed a quiz night.
The following morning the students split into two groups and explored the Ruakuri Caves and Aranui Bushwalk with the teachers guiding them. The trip provided the students with hands on experience, which will be invaluable for their studies in the future.
