Year 11 KATTI Career Development Programme

A group of Year 11 Māori students were invited to participate in the ‘Kei ā Tātou te Ihi’ (KATTI) Year 11 Programme – Rapuara (Careers) held at Waipapa Marae (the University of Auckland) this week.
The KATTI Year 11 programme focuses on individual career planning. Students learnt how to make appropriate subject choices in relation to their preferred career pathways, and the breadth of options available with each choice.
In addition, students were introduced to the processes that enable them to make informed decisions about their educational future and develop an awareness of key contacts for future assistance.
This programme has been developed to support current career initiatives in schools and delivered within ahuatanga Māori.
