Year 10 “Enviro Day”
Posted on December 09, 2016
On Wednesday 30 November Year 10 Macleans College students enjoyed a full day of environmental science as part of the Year 10 Science Sustainability unit.
The purpose of the day was to help students connect with their local environment and inspire them to take action to protect and improve their local environment.
Students were taken out of their classes to participate in a sequence of activities including laboratory sessions identifying little critters from our local stream, testing the quality of the stream water and how pest plants were endemic in the local reserve.
In the afternoon it was time to get creative and prepare a presentation to summarise what they had learnt on the day and to send a message of positive action to improve our environment for the future.
Students created amazing posters, videos, speeches and much more. The day finished with a grand finale where the best groups of each class presented their work to all the Year 10 students in the gymnasium.
