Weightlifting success for Macleans College student

Jumari Oosthuizen Year 12 from Hillary House recently competed in the 2020 Olympic Weightlifting National Championships which were held at the Trustpower Baypark Arena in Mt Maunganui.
She competed alongside the top Olympic Weightlifters in New Zealand. Jumari placed 3rd in the Junior division and was named as part of the New Zealand Youth squad. The event was livestreamed on Sky Sport Next.
Jumari trains with the PowerStation Barbell Club – an affiliated Olympic Weightlifting club based in Howick.
In 2018 she took part in her first competition – the New Zealand Secondary Schools Olympic Weightlifting Championships. She won a silver medal in her division.
