Posted on August 12, 2020

On Friday 7 August, the Cabaret cast and band performed at the Uxbridge Friday’s at Twelve Concert Series in Howick.

This year has not gone the way the Faculty of Performing Arts expected it to, due to the coronavirus pandemic and this year’s production of Beauty and the Beast had to be cancelled. After a tear-filled announcement and the easing of restrictions, the Faculty of Performing Arts used two intensive months of preparation to bring to life the new production 2020 Cabaret

Before school, morning teas, lunchtimes, after school and weekends turned into rehearsal time spent perfecting songs, movements and layouts for the show. Under the direction of Ms Burnett, Dr Miles and Mrs McNabb, the cast and band worked under intense pressure to create the stellar performance on Friday at Uxbridge, which was performed to a full house.

Reviews from the performance included: “amazing performance”, “absolutely spectacular” with the audience and students beaming from ear to ear.

The 2020 Cabaret will be performed once again at the Macleans Eisteddfod in week nine.
