Upcoming Careers Evening
Posted on July 29, 2019
The Annual Macleans College Careers Evening is on Wednesday 7 August from 6.45 pm - 8.45 pm.
This is an opportunity for students and parents to find out more about possible future pathways through various means, including brochures, speaking in a one-on-one situation, as well as listening to various presentations.
There will be a Health Panel, Food Technologist, Engineer Panel, IT Professionals, Defence & Police Forces, and alongside ex-Macleans College students, universities, trades and polytechnics will be available to speak about their areas – what tasks they do, the journey they took, the enjoyment of their jobs, what subjects would be helpful to take and more.
Senior students Year 11 - 13, especially Year 12 students are expected to be present, as there are some important decisions to be made. Subject selection for next year is one of these.
Also, as a lead in this week, Career Week, all students are encouraged to check out the display in the Library, go to the Library Study on Thursday lunchtime to hear from a Biomedical Engineer from Fisher & Paykel Healthcare, as well as asking the questions that various teachers will have up on their wall that they are willing to answer.
