University of Otago Musical Theatre and Drama Workshop

Senior music and drama students were treated to a workshop and masterclass given by members of the Music, Theatre, Dance and Performing Arts department of Otago University, on Monday 18 June.
Four students, Jackie Liu (Snell House), Hamish Regan (Rutherford), Avaneesh Belwalkar (Rutherford) and Diego Santos (Rutherford), performed musical theatre songs in front of the visitors, Arlie McCormick, Amanda Martin and David Harrison, who offered advice and guidance on vocal technique and dramatic delivery.
The session concluded with a discussion on the importance of the arts, how they can help in achieving a well balanced life, even when pursuing other careers.
