Unique Sushi workshop

Posted on August 06, 2020

A free Sushi workshop was held for students in the Macleans College Hospitality classroom on Monday 3 August with the Japanese chef, Ms Abe.

This was the first time the school had such an opportunity and the event was well attended. There were over 100 applications made within two hours, and only 28 lucky students chosen to attend the day.

The students learnt how to prepare sushi rice in a traditional way and the resulting final dish had a beautiful, professional look.

This unique event was possible with the help of Food Technology teachers, in particular, Ms Boateng, and of course, Ms Abe and Ms Nishida.  Also many thanks to the Asia Foundation for the support towards this workshop.

The students who attended enjoyed and appreciated the experience.
