Unique orienteering sprint series at Eden Park
Posted on June 24, 2024
A group of Macleans College students recently embarked on an urban adventure race around Eden Park; New Zealand’s national stadium.
Thirty seven schools took part in this unique orienteering sprint series competition.
In a fun opportunity, students were tested via a combination of strategic speed and navigation skills while going back and forth between the six levels of stands at Eden Park. In addition, orienteers were able to explore areas of the Eden Park grounds which the public would not normally have access to, such as the All Blacks’ changing rooms and the coaches box.
Some notable placements from Macleans College students:
Intermediate Girls
- Emily Chan (Kupe House) - eighth
Senior Girls
- Lily West (Upham) - third
- Morgan Attwood (Kupe) - fourth
- Millie Thompson (Batten) - fifth
