Top Speakers in Auckland Schools Debating Competition

At the annual prize giving ceremony for the Auckland Schools Debating Competition held at Auckland Grammar School last month a number of Macleans College students were recognised for their outstanding speaking abilities.

They were ranked in the top ten of their grades against stiff competition from schools such as Auckland Grammar School, St Kentigern College, Diocesan School for Girls, King’s College, Baradene College and Westlake Boys’ and Girls’ High Schools.

These articulate students are:

Premier Advanced Grade
1st Alan Zhang (Kupe House)
2nd Yang Fan Yun (Snell)
7th Grace Baylis (Upham)

Premier Junior Grade
5th Ranudi Lelwala (Hillary)

Junior Open (over 500 students took part in this grade throughout Auckland)
6th Abhinav Chawla (Snell)
