Top Player Selected for New Zealand Open Women’s Ice Hockey Team
Posted on January 29, 2016
Year 13 student Tessa Broadbent (Batten House) will be playing for the Ice Ferns in the Division Two World Championships in Spain.
Tessa first began playing ice hockey in 2013. Her outstanding commitment and focus resulted in her selection in 2014 for the Junior U18 Women's Team, known as the Ice Fronds. Following her scoring success in Melbourne with the team, she was invited to play in regular season games in Toronto, Canada, for two months early in 2015.
Tessa's selection as a representative in the New Zealand Women's team this year is a well-deserved achievement. She is currently playing season games in Canada, after which she will travel with the team to a training camp in Stockholm, Sweden.
The Ice Ferns compete in the Division Two World Championships in Spain from 28 February to 8 March.
