Third place at Fencing North Foil Teams Competition

On Saturday 12 June, Macleans College's three fencing teams, two male and one female team competed in the Annual Fencing North Foil Teams Competition.
The competition involved a total of 24 highly regarded teams throughout the wider Auckland region.
The Macleans College Men's A team finished third overall, after narrowly beating Auckland Union, a crowd favourite composite team by one point to reach the semi-finals. It was a close match against Kristin Senior School in the semi-finals, narrowly missing the finals. In the contest for third place Macleans College was matched against Saint Kentigern College, overcoming them by 13 points.
The day was long and hard fought with the teams competing from 8.00 am until 6.00 pm. Despite the tough competition, each team performed to a high calibre and demonstrated effective teamwork and pride.
