Third Annual Girl Empowerment Conference
Posted on June 21, 2019
On Saturday 8 June female students from nine colleges across Auckland attended the third annual Girl Empowerment Conference held in Hillary House, Macleans College.
The conference aims to break gender stereotypes and empower young females, especially in career pathways.
This year's business case competition was centred around the environment. Participants were split up into groups of five and given the day to prepare an economically sustainable proposal which benefits our environment with the help of mentors who are females in leadership positions. They presented their business idea to a panel of judges and the tops team received prizes.
Thank you to Mr Caley and Mrs Bigwood for helping the TGEC team to put together this inspiring event.
