Half Moon Bay Rotary Technology Scholarships for 2016
These scholarships are intended to encourage students to enter a trade or technology and to recognise the value of apprenticeships and cadetships.
The Macleans values have been displayed by both students and they have proven skills and abilities in their chosen area.
The scholarships in 2016 are awarded to: Benjamin McKee of Upham House and Daniel Andresen of Kupe House.
Miriam Elizabeth Gilbert Award
This prize is awarded in memory of Miriam Gilbert, a student at Macleans College 2004-2007.
The award of $750 is awarded to a Year 13 creative arts student, particularly focussing on media studies or graphic design who;
- Displays creativity in their work
- Who is highly individual
The recipient for 2016 is: Ju Hui Choi of Batten House.
Massey Business Boot Camp Scholarship
This scholarship is worth $1000 and can be applied to study business papers at any of Massey University’s three Campuses.
The recipients for 2016 are: Adam Mellin of Batten House and Courtney Chellew of Mansfield House.
Manukau Institute of Technology (MIT) Partnership Scholarship
This Manukau Institute of Technology Partnership Scholarship is worth $4000 in terms of a fees credit and awarded for a full time course at Level 4 and above.
The recipient for 2016 is Stephanie Khey of Hillary House.
The Auckland University of Technology (AUT) Scholarships
AUT and Macleans College have been working together successfully in partnership to offer tertiary pathways for students to undertake study at the University over the last seven years.
The Auckland University of Technology Vice Chancellor’s Scholarship
AUT provides undergraduate scholarships to reward student academic achievement and contribution to their school and community. As well as recognising academic achievement these scholarships also recognise potential leadership ability and contribution to the school, community or cultural pursuits or sport at a representative level. The scholarship is a contribution towards fees of $6,500 per annum or $19,500 over a three year course to support full-time study at AUT.
The recipients for 2016 are: Rhythm Hauraki-Manukau of Kupe House, Priyanka Mistry of Rutherford House and Alyssa Tang of Batten House.
Otago University Leaders of Tomorrow Scholarship and The Vice Chancellors Scholarship
Leaders of Tomorrow Scholarships are selected based on a balance of academic achievement and leadership, which might be demonstrated either through school, sporting or cultural activities, and/or community involvement.
The Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship was established by the University in 2015 to celebrate the excellence of students enrolling at the University of Otago. Selection of recipients is at the discretion of the Vice-Chancellor. This scholarship may be held concurrently with other scholarships.
The recipients of both of these Scholarships for 2016 are: Keerthana Ananth of Mansfield House and Ray Ma of Hillary House.
The recipient of the Leaders of Tomorrow Scholarship is: Stephanie Wilson of Kupe House.
Otago University Academic Excellence Scholarship
The University of Otago Academic Excellence Scholarships are worth up to $45,000 over three years, and are primarily selected on the basis of outstanding previous academic performance, however leadership qualities and community involvement are also considered.
The recipients for 2016 are: Audrey Jian of Batten House, Davina Paul of Rutherford House and Victor Sun of Batten House.
Otago University Performance Entrance Scholarship
These scholarships are valued at up to $16,000 over three years, available to students who have demonstrated academic ability and who are at an elite level for their chosen sport or cultural discipline.
The recipient for 2016 is: Keith Lu of Snell House.
Victoria University Excellence Scholarships
The Victoria Excellence Scholarships are first-year scholarships and are awarded competitively, on the basis of academic merit at Year 12, to school leavers who are looking to pursue undergraduate studies at Victoria University of Wellington. This can be put towards tuition fees or Victoria halls of residence costs. The scholarship is valued at $5,000.
The recipient for 2016 is: Hannah Reynecke of Hillary House.
The University of Waikato – Outstanding Academic Achievement Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to outstanding students who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership potential and community involvement and is worth up to $25,000 over three years.
The recipient for 2016 is: Sarah Knott of Batten House.
Canterbury University - Go Canterbury Package
Eligibility for this is based on academic merit and a student’s willingness to get involved in activities outside of the classroom to enrich their University of Canterbury experience. It includes a $5,000 accommodation grant for University Hall, career and personal leadership development opportunities, as well as cultural and outdoor adventure activities.
The recipients for 2016 are: Senal Serasinghe of Kupe House and Matilda Namala of Kupe House.
Auckland University Scholarships
The University of Auckland Academic Potential Scholarships are awarded to academically talented students. This scholarship is worth $6,000 over three years.
The recipients for 2016 are: Yani Ho of Te Kanawa House and Charlene Lo of Batten House.
The University of Auckland Top Achiever Scholarships are prestigious awards. They are awarded to students who have demonstrated exceptional levels of academic excellence, all round ability, and leadership. This scholarship is worth up to $20,000.
The recipients for 2016 are: Praharsh Bahl of Batten House, Abhishek Chawla of Batten House, Lucas Lee of Hillary House, Zachary Wong of Batten House.
