Te Kanawa House support the Child Cancer Foundation

A street appeal was held by the Te Kanawa whanau at the Botany Town Centre on Saturday 27 February.

This is a fundraising activity to raise money for Te Kanawa's charity the Child Cancer Foundation. Around fifty students from the house gathered and spent a small amount of their Saturday participating in this event, from 9.00 am until 5.00 pm.

The Child Cancer Foundation is a charity that supports children with this disease. Every week more than three New Zealand children are diagnosed with cancer. The Child Cancer Foundation receives no government funding, so they have to fundraise in order to help these children. They not only help children with cancer but also the families, parents and siblings. The foundation becomes a support system by providing comfort financially, practically and emotionally to these people as they have been impacted by cancer.

Te Kanawa House is very grateful to have this opportunity to be a part of any activity involving The Child Cancer Foundation.
