Te Kanawa House students volunteer for the Child Cancer Foundation
Posted on April 12, 2024
A group of Macleans College students from Te Kanawa House recently dedicated their time to volunteer for their whanau house charity, the Child Cancer Foundation.
At Macleans College each of the eight whanau houses is dedicated to a specific charity, and for Te Kanawa House, this noble cause is the Child Cancer Foundation. The significance of Te Kanawa House students offering support and assisting with Child Cancer Foundation fundraising lies in the positive impact this fundraising has for many. Not only does it provide vital support for children and families navigating the challenges of paediatric cancer, but it also supports the healthcare professionals involved in their care.
Throughout the course of the school year, Te Kanawa House organises a series of fundraising events; directing all proceeds towards the Child Cancer Foundation. As well as providing assistance to the foundation, it serves as an opportunity for students of all ages to engage in learning and give back to their whanau house and the greater community.
