Success in Orienteering

Posted on April 04, 2016

The Northland Orienteering Competition was held in Whangarei last month.

Mr Hey took two teams to the event. Over a two hour race through forest, hills, mud and swampy farm land they navigated and pushed themselves to their limits to gain as many navigation points as possible.

This resulted in Cole Brown 11DIS and Jonathan Li 10DVS placing first in the junior boys category and Emma Sproul 13CJT and Gemma Black 11SQU placing third behind past national champions Whangarei Girls’ College.

The students were very disciplined and displayed impressive navigation and stamina under demanding terrain and a tight time frame.
