Students selected for International Chemistry Olympiad training group

Eleven Macleans College students recently sat selection tests online for the International Chemistry Olympiad and gained impressive results.

They have all been offered a place in the training group for the actual Olympiad which will be held in Tianjin, China in July 2022.

The following students gained a gold certificate (above 90th percentile) 92.5%:

• Allan Han (Year 11 Batten House)
• Ibrahim Waheed (Year 12 Batten)
• William Gao (Year 12 Upham)
• Rick Wang (Year 12 Rutherford)

The following students gained a silver certificate (70th – 90th percentile) 80 – 90%:

• Daniel Park (Year 12 Kupe)
• James Teng (Year 12 Kupe)
• Shivani Samanthula (Year 12 Mansfield)

The following students gained a bronze certificate (40th – 70th percentile) 60 – 78%:

• Aditya Bisht (Year 11 Mansfield)
