Students experience Van Gogh Alive exhibition
Posted on April 15, 2021
On Wednesday 14 April 133 Macleans College Textiles, Visual Arts and Design and Visual Communication students visited the Van Gogh Alive event at Spark Arena.
This exhibition has brought together over 3,000 of Van Gogh’s works in a large-scale, multi-sensory experience that has been viewed by more than six million people across fifty cities around the world.
Projecting huge scale versions of his works onto walls, columns, and floors, Van Gogh Alive creates the sensation of walking right into Van Gogh’s paintings, giving the viewer the unique opportunity to immerse oneself in his artistry and to venture into his world.
The students also had the opportunity to examine Van Gogh’s sources of inspiration via photographs and videos displayed alongside his works and to experience interactive exhibitions such as walking through sunflowers and sitting in a model of the bedroom of the artist.
The teachers and classes wish to thank Mrs Winn for the hard work that went into organising the visit.
