Students experience the Los Angeles Master Chorale

Last Friday, singers from Macleans College Chorale travelled to Auckland Town Hall to see The Los Angeles Master Chorale’s breath-taking performance of Lagrime di San Pietro by Orlando di Lasso.
This Renaissance work was the composer’s last composition, an emotive telling of the story of St. Peter.
The students were impressed by the staging of the work, which included choristers singing while moving through various positions: lying down, embracing and contorting their bodies to best communicate the intent of the music. The technique never faltered – a true testament to the skill of a professional touring choir!
