Strong Performances in Multisport

Macleans College sent a number of students to the Auckland Aquathon and Triathlon Championships held earlier this term.
The Aquathon Championship was held at St Kentigern College. The school’s performance was strong with a group of 24 participating.
Individual medals were won by Dion Wallwork (Upham House) who placed second in the Junior Boys event. Ronan Codyre (Batten) followed him with a second in the Intermediate Boys event.
In the team events Macleans College dominated. The Junior Boys were placed first and second. This included Kyle Chen (Te Kanawa), Flynn Verner (Kupe), Dylan Koshy (Rutherford) and Finn Wilson (Upham).
In the Intermediate Mixed Luke Hitchcock (Snell) and Anna Shimizu (Mansfield) were placed second and Bonnie Huang (Kupe) and Rubin Whiteley (Kupe) placed third.
The Intermediate Boys of Gustav Campher (Kupe) and Christian De Vaal (Kupe) placed second with Picus Lam (Kupe) and Gordon Mei (Snell) coming in third.
The Auckland Schools Triathlon were held at Point England Reserve. The school sent a team of 20 students with a good mix of experience and students competing for the first time.
The Junior Boys finished second, Intermediate Boys and Senior Mixed both finished first. Impressive individual performances included Kyle Chen and Sophia Urlich (Te Kanawa) who were both placed in the top six for the Junior Events. In the Intermediate Boys Ronan Codyre was placed second and Rubin Whiteley was placed third.
