Spirit of Adventure

On Tuesday 30 November a group of Year 10 students undertook the adventure of a lifetime.

They were part of the 725E Spirit of Adventure voyage, which also included three other schools from across New Zealand. They cruised around the Hauraki Gulf to Kawau Island and returned to Auckland on Saturday 3 December.

During the voyage, the schools competed against each other in a trophy competition. They took part in a diverse range of activities, such as Burma trails, skits, raft races and knot competitions. The trophy was a great way to display leadership and camaraderie and Macleans finished a credible 2nd. However, the most important element was allowing the schools to integrate to learn about their cultures, which created a beautiful melting pot on the voyage.
