Small House Choirs Step Up in 2017
Posted on August 21, 2017
On Friday 11 August the annual Small House Choir competition was held in the school gymnasium.
The eight houses presented well-prepared performances with appropriately balanced accompaniments that varied from a single keyboard to guitars, drum kit, violin and cajon.
Three adjudicators scored the event independently: Mr Miles, Mrs McNabb and Mrs Swasbrook, giving marks for vocal technique, musicianship and presentation. Impressed by the improvement in standard from 2016 the comments from the adjudicators cited tuning, vocal precision and presentation as the key elements that separated the performances.
Rutherford House took the honours with Mansfield and Batten close behind in second and third place.
