Senior Social Studies Quiz Night

Ten Level 3 Social Studies students were divided into two groups and attended the annual ‘Social Studies Quiz Night’ hosted by Westlake Girls’ High School on June 15th.

Group A consisted of; Jacob Hill (Te Kanawa House), Tom Pacso (Kupe), Siobhan Bishop (Snell), Amelia Orchard (Batten), Edmond Liu (Upham). Group B consisted of; Alex Hanley (Batten), Ella Curtis (Upham), Caitlin Tracy (Upham) Ann Adia (Upham) and Sarah Millar (Mansfield).

These students competed against a variety of schools from the Upper North Island. The evening consisted of questions about current social issues and events across the world. The students were especially privileged to have met two Green Party Candidates, Barry Coates and Chlöe Swarbrick, who were judges for the competition.

Overall the two groups with the help of staff made it a memorable night.
