Five members of the Macleans College Rowing team have been selected to train in Auckland Development Squads.

Jack MacDonald (Kupe House) and Harry Newbury-Lee (Te Kanawa) have been selected into the Auckland Blues rowing squad. The Blues programme is for Year 13 Students who show the potential to be selected to the Auckland RPC programme, one level below the New Zealand Elite Crews. Jack and Harry have been training heavily over winter in preparation for the RPC trials in September.

Anna Rowland (Rutherford), Camille Dignadice (Rutherford) and Heath Shepherd (Te Kanawa) were selected for the Auckland Light Blues training squad. This is a regional Year 12 development team. Anna and Heath have further been shortlisted to trial for the Auckland Under18 squad competing at the Queensland State Championships in Australia in September.

Macleans College teacher Mr Mark Clemo is once again involved in coaching both the Blues and Light Blues programmes.

Former student Thomas Duffett (Kupe 2012 - 2016) has been in the Auckland RPC squad for the last year and former student James Martin (Te Kanawa 2011 - 2015) was named in the New Zealand Universities Trans-Tasman Team which competed in Australia in July. Both medalled in their Auckland University rowing crews at the New Zealand University Rowing Championships earlier this year.
