Season opener for Macleans College fencers

Two Macleans College students took part in the first Fencing North competition of the year on Saturday 18 February.
The W Dawn Memorial competition was held at the Te Pai Centre in Waitakere. Larry Lin (Batten House) and Matt Wang (Mansfield) both competed in the Men’s Foil, facing opposition from Kristin School and Westlake Boys’ High School.
Larry was presented with a bronze medal for his final placing of joint 3rd, and Matt finished the competition in 11th.
