NZQA Premier Scholar 2019
Premier Scholarships are awarded to the very top 5 to 10 candidates in New Zealand. The minimum requirement to be considered for this award is at least three Scholarships at “Outstanding” Level. The number of recipients for this award is restricted and achieving the minimum requirement will not guarantee an award.

The Proxime Accessit prize is worth $500 and is awarded to the student who achieved the second highest grades at Macleans College in the annual NZQA Scholarship Examinations.

Dux of Macleans College 2019
The Dux prize for 2019 is awarded to the Macleans student who achieved the highest grades in the annual NZQA Scholarship examinations.
The Dux of Macleans College receives the Allen McDonald Scholarship. This scholarship was established by the Macleans College Parent Teacher Association in recognition of the contribution of Allen McDonald, the second Principal of Macleans College, particularly with regard to the school’s scholastic achievement. The scholarship is worth $1,000.00.
The Macleans College Dux of 2019 and recipient of the Allen McDonald Scholarship is awarded to William Han.
The annual Scholars’ Assembly was held at Macleans College on Friday.
The assembly recognised students who had achieved at the highest level in the National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA), the Cambridge International Examinations and the New Zealand Qualifications Authority Scholarship Examinations for 2019.
In the 2019 Scholarship examinations one student achieved a Premier Scholar Award, and five students achieved an Outstanding Scholar Award. There were 127 individual Scholarships gained, including 16 at Outstanding level and one student achieved First in Subject.
Five students gained High Achievement, ten achieved Top in New Zealand and ten gained Top in the World awards in Cambridge international examinations.
