Rowers achieve strong results in season opener

The 2022/2023 rowing season began with the R F Bennett Memorial Shield and the Eric Verdonk Memorial Regatta at Lake Pupuke over the weekend of 5-6 November.
The weather was a little windy which made conditions difficult for the Macleans College novice rowers but all participants managed to get at least one race completed on the weekend.
A collection of strong results were achieved by the crews and the Macleans College Rowing Club are now looking forward to attending the first Lake Karapiro regatta of the season in three weeks’ time.
Crews who finished in the top three in their divisions:
- Men’s open double sculls division 1 – third
- Men’s open double sculls division 2 - third
- Boys’ U18 coxed quad – second
- Men’s intermediate coxed quad – third
- Men’s club coxless quad – first
- Women’s novice octuple sculls – third
- Boys’ U17 double sculls division 1 – first
- Boys’ U17 double sculls division 3 – first
- Girls’ U17 double sculls - first
- Girls’ U15 octuple - second
- Girls’ U17 single - third
- Boys’ U15 double - second
- Boys’ U17 single division 1 - first
- Boys’ U17 single division 2 - first
