Jealous suspicions told through shadows.
Confusion on a cliff edge.
Dog consulted for advice on love.
This year’s Macleans College entries to the SGCNZ University of Otago Sheilah Winn Shakespeare Festival did not shy away from heavy issues and original themes.
Five groups from the college entered the Regional Festival which was held at Botany Downs Secondary College on Saturday 9 April. All of the groups were student directed and had just one term to prepare a five or fifteen minute performance of an extract from one of Shakespeare’s plays.
Competing against five other schools, Macleans College received numerous accolades on the day including “Best Theatre Magic”, “Most Dramatic Piece” and “Most Enthusiastic Ensemble”.
Well done to all of the students involved for their hard work and enthusiasm.
