The official re-opening of Mansfield House took place on Thursday 15 August.

The official party and guests were welcomed with a powhiri before being addressed by the House Leader, Mr Davidson. The Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Mr Wilkie, then gave a speech.

A guitar ensemble was performed by students Sami Naseem (Mansfield House), Sydney Knott (Snell), Leo Strode-Penny (Mansfield) and Josh Andersen (Mansfield). The history of Mansfield was read out by the House Captains, Dale Dunkerley and Emma Hjorth.

The guest speaker for the event was Raelene Castle (1984 – 1988), a former House Captain of Mansfield and now the CEO of Australian Rugby. She unveiled a plaque before Mr Davidson gave a closing address.

Mansfield House takes its name from the prominent New Zealand short story writer and poet Katherine Mansfield.
