Premier Netball Combined Points Tournament

Posted on August 16, 2019

On Wednesday 7 August the Macleans College Premier Netball team competed in the Combined Points Tournament held at the Auckland Netball Centre, in preparation for the upcoming UNISS tournament.

The team, led by coach Sally Meale, managed to claim a close win to local rivals Botany Downs Secondary College by just one goal.

With only a short turnaround of 20 minutes between games, the girls had to quickly recover and prepare for the next game against Mount Albert Grammar School, the 2018 New Zealand Secondary School Champions.  The game remained close throughout the entire 20 minutes, with MAGS only just getting away with a two-goal lead in the last moments.

The following games saw the Macleans College girls win by three against Kristin School, and win by two against Otumoetai College.  The team only just missed out on the top spot of their pool to MAGS, so didn’t qualify for the semi-finals.

The girls will have another chance to play against MAGS at UNISS in September in the initial pool rounds.
