Piano Recital Strikes the Right Tune

Former student Tony Yan Tong Chen (Mansfield House 2013 – 2017) will be performing at the Lewis Eady Showroom on 5 August as a fundraiser for his future musical endeavours.
Tony is currently in his second year of piano studies at the University of Auckland. In February he undertook an audition tour of the USA. This resulted in Tony accepting a partial tuition scholarship to study at the Eastman School of Music with Alan Chow, commencing in August 2018. He has also been awarded scholarships to study at the Peabody Conservatory at John Hopkins University, Manhattan School of Music and Berklee College of Music (Boston University). He leaves in two weeks to pursue his studies.
In 2017 while completing his final year at high school he entered the University of Auckland under the Young Scholars Programme studying piano with Rae de Lisle and with Jenny Jung at Macleans College.
Tony has won numerous piano competitions as well as achieving outstanding academic success in the NZQA Scholarships and CIE examinations.
