Outstanding Success in Cambridge International Examinations
Posted on February 05, 2016
In the 2015 Cambridge International Examinations (CIE), there were five Top-in-the-World awards, twelve Top-in-New Zealand awards and a High Achievement award gained by Macleans College students.
Zhong Huang (Rutherford House) topped the list with an award for Best Across Three Cambridge International A Levels. He was Top-in-the-World for A level Economics as well as Top-in-New Zealand for A level Business Studies and A level Chemistry. Last year, Macleans College students achieved thirteen Top-in-New Zealand awards and seven Top-in-the-World awards.
The students will be recognised at the CIE Awards Ceremony on 18 February at Eden Park, held to acknowledge the outstanding achievements of all New Zealand’s Cambridge learners. Their success is particularly impressive, considering more than 1 million students sat Cambridge examinations in more than 10,000 schools in countries around the world, including the United Kingdom, United States, China, India and Singapore, as well as throughout Europe, South America and the Middle East.
Principal Byron Bentley congratulated staff and students on this major success at an assembly this morning.
