Outdoor Education students fine tune snow sports skills

Posted on November 02, 2022

The Year 13 Outdoor Education class recently completed the snow sports section of the course.

Students enjoyed travelling up to Snowplanet in Silverdale to fine tune their snowboarding and skiing skills. Students participate in lessons and then use this as another opportunity for their practical NCEA Achievement standard credits.

Many students were new to snow sports and commented that this was a great way to pick up a sport that they hope to carry on after school life. In 2023 it is hoped to add a practical snow sports trip to the course to give the students a chance to snowboard in mountain terrain.
