Orienteering Auckland Sprint Championships

Eleven Macleans College students recently competed in the Auckland Sprint Championships for orienteering.
The championships were held at two venues, the morning event was held at Pukekohe High School and the afternoon event was held at ACG Strathallan, Karaka.
Special mention to Lily West (Upham House) who placed 6th for Intermediate Girls and Klaas Kamp (Kupe) who placed 7th for Junior Boys in the morning race.
All the students tried their very best to complete both events.
Orienteering is a family of sports, where competitors use maps to complete navigational challenges in unfamiliar areas. It involves both physical and mental challenges.
