NZ Music Month Celebrated at Highland Park Library

On Friday 17 May, a small group of Macleans College music students presented a lunchtime recital of music at the Highland Park Library as part of the New Zealand music month celebrations.
Four chamber music groups were featured during the concert;
- Perfect Fifth - a brass quintet comprising of Shanhai Guan of Hillary House (Trumpet), Joseph Yuan of Mansfield (Trumpet), Luke Lin of Mansfield (Horn), Alex Jin of Mansfield (Trombone), and David Li of Snell (Tuba)
- Sfourzando - a piano quartet comprised of David Li (Piano), Kevin Guan of Upham (Violin), Veda Xue of Rutherford (Viola), and Bruce Zhang of Kupe (Cello)
- Midnight Trio - an unorthodox combo comprised of John Yang of Hillary (Harp), Veda Xue (Viola), and Linda Zhao of Te Kanawa (Flute)
- Macleans Trio A - a Horn Trio comprised of Alphonse Jing of Mansfield (Piano), Reuben Chung of Mansfield (Violin), and Luke Lin (Horn).
The chamber groups were also joined by soloists Lorna Zhang of Mansfield (Violin), Danielle Tweedale of Rutherford (Voice) and Reuben Chung (Guitar).
