North Island Snowboarding Competition

Posted on October 12, 2016

On 16 September the Macleans College snowboard team travelled to Ohakune to compete in the North Island Snowboard Competition.

Turoa was the venue which unfortunately was hit by a downpour of rain on 17 and 18 September. This meant the conditions were tough for the competition on the next two days. Hard snow conditions saw several injuries (luckily none from Macleans).

Overall Macleans placed fourth which was a great effort. Individually Angus Jones (Te Kanawa House) placed 4th, Tom Subritzky (Batten) 24th and Trent Hunt (Te Kanawa) 32nd. Vasco Eguren (Mansfield) also made it onto the list (as he had no DQs, which puts him in the top half). James Du Plessis (Snell) had a DQ so didn't get a combined score. Holly Du Plessis (Snell) came 8th in the girls.
