North Island Secondary Schools Science Bowl

On Thursday 1st June, Macleans College entered two teams in the North Island Secondary Schools Science Bowl held at Auckland Grammar School.
Macleans entered two teams in the senior category and one team in the junior category in the competition, where they competed against other schools on the topics of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics.
After eight preliminary rounds both senior teams as well as the junior team made the semi-finals. Both senior teams suffered narrow losses against Auckland Grammar and ACG Parnell leading to 3rd equal placings.
The junior team won their semi-final and went on to the finals where they defeated Auckland Grammar and ended the competition undefeated to claim the junior cup.

Junior A: Captain - Richard Jiang (Upham House), Kevin Hou (Upham), Zi Lin Wang (Rutherford), William Han (Upham)
Senior A: Captain - Janice Ho (Te Kanawa), Edward Liu (Mansfield), Max Yang (Te Kanawa), Elinor Wang (Te Kanawa)
Senior B: Captain - Sashi Peiris (Kupe), Allen Hui (Kupe), Owen Wang (Kupe), Yang Fan Yun (Snell)
