Solid training rewarded with medals at North Island Secondary Schools Rowing Championships

A group of 31 Macleans College rowers attended the North Island Secondary Schools Rowing Championships held at Lake Karapiro over the weekend of 1 - 3 March.
Eighty schools attended, comprising 1,262 crews competing with over 1,880 students.
Macleans College was represented by competitors in girls and boys single sculls, double sculls, coxed quad sculls and coxed four events.
All of the training to date was rewarded with Macleans College students achieving three medals.
James Dimock (Te Kanawa House) placed first in the Boys U18 single sculls, for which he was awarded the Jack Flynn Memorial Shield.
James teamed up with Logan Turrall (Te Kanawa) to compete in the Boys U18 double sculls, to also place first.
Nathan Strachan (Rutherford) placed third in the Boys U17 single sculls.
