North Island Inter-Schools Dressage success

Macleans College students Sam Keane (Batten House) and Hayley Newington (Hillary) recently travelled to St Peter’s School in Cambridge to compete in the North Island Inter-Schools Dressage Competition, Series 1.

Both riders rode excellent tests to secure individual placings in all of their tests. Sam rode two open competition level tests and produced a strong third and fourth placings in a large competitive field. Hayley completed two great development level tests for a second and third placing in her equally large division. Both girls received some personal best marks for their tests on the day.

Sam’s composite Open Championship team, made up by riders from St Cuthbert’s College, Kaipara College and Morrinsville Intermediate School, won the overall teams competition at Open level.

Hayley’s composite development team, made up of riders from Onewhero Area School and ACG Strathallan School also performed well taking out second place overall in the Development level competition.
