Posted on September 25, 2024
On Thursday 12 and Friday 13 September, the Intercultural Clubs Committee (ICC) proudly hosted the highly anticipated annual Night of Intercultural for 2024.
This event was held in the Colin Prentice Auditorium, bringing the Macleans College community together in a vibrant celebration of cultural diversity. This year, it was bigger and better than ever before.
The evening was packed with an array of spectacular performances, with Kapa Haka starting both nights providing a powerful and heartfelt welcome to the audience. The atmosphere was filled with excitement as the stage came alive with performances representing a wide variety of cultural expressions.
All groups showcased incredible talent, including Chinese Dance, K-Pop Dance, Bollywood, J-Pop, ballet, Taekwondo, and more - all offering a unique journey through different cultural heritages. An enjoyable surprise of the night was Mr Fourie, Head of Further Mathematics, showcasing his musical talent on the piano alongside a Year 13 student.
In addition to the performances, interactive games were played throughout the evening, giving audience members the chance to win some exciting prizes. Furthermore, a finale orchestrated by the executives, added an unforgettable touch, finishing off two amazing nights that drew sold-out crowds of over 200 people each night.
This event also saw a new record for the different sponsorships. Special thanks to the generosity of the sponsors and supporters: Snowplanet, Motat, Monterey Cinemas Howick, Paper Plus Highland Park, Gong Cha, Nishiki Japanese Restaurant Highland Park, Auckland Table Tennis Association, Auckland Badminton Association, Rialto Cinemas Newmarket, Indian Kitchen Howick, Tune Table Tennis, Lone Star Botany, E-tea Highland Park and Anytime Fitness Highland Park.
