At the start of recent Christmas holidays, the Premier Touch team travelled to Rotorua to compete in the New Zealand Secondary Schools Touch Nationals.

The team had a very successful first day at the tournament finishing second in their pool, promoting them to the Championship round. Day two proved to be very challenging with the team versing three very strong opponents, including Howick College, who went on to win the tournament. On day three with nothing to lose, the team finished the tournament in high spirits winning their last three games.

Macleans College finished 13th out of 36 teams, and with the majority of the players returning this year, they look to be very promising for the upcoming season.

As well as competing in the tournament, the team enjoyed time visiting the Polynesian Spa and Rotorua Luge.

Zayde Sarah-Baldwin (Te Kanawa House) and Regan McGregor (Batten) were selected in the New Zealand Secondary Schools team.
