New Zealand farm experience delights Vietnamese international students

The wet weather didn’t deter from the fun experienced by a group of Vietnamese international students at Sheepworld.

Sheepworld is an interactive farm park located north of Warkworth which provides visitors with a hands-on New Zealand farming experience.

Despite a few reluctant squeals from students who had never seen some of these animals before, the friendly sheep and alpacas won the students over and they enjoyed spending extended time feeding them.

While at Sheepworld, the students watched a sheep shearing show and a dog show which illustrated how the border collie dog stares the sheep down to encourage them to enter their pen. A huntaway dog also worked during the show, barking at the sheep to lead them into the shearing pen.

Staff and students were pleased to learn that 100% of the profits from Sheepworld go towards a youth development program for training and supporting young people for the future.
