Musical comedy hits all the right notes

The annual Macleans College musical production this year, once again delved into the world of musical comedy with Sheinkin and Feldman’s hilarious The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.

A cast of 21 students took to the stage supported by an eight-piece band and large backstage team of dressers, tech crew, backstage crew, hospitality and front of house students and staff. Each evening also featured three audience volunteers joining in the onstage action, attempting to out spell the competition.

“WOW. It was brilliant. I have not laughed with tears streaming down my face since I don’t know when.”

The Performing Arts faculty is now straight into preparations for the next productions; Cabaret (1 – 3 July) and Senior Drama Production, The Book of Everything (5 – 7 August).
