MIT Practical Hospitality Course

Posted on June 13, 2016

Last Thursday the Year 13 Hospitality students completed their practice assessment for the MIT Hospitality course.

Each student had to prepare six different baked goods ranging from Lemon Meringue pie and sausage rolls to banana cakes and filo pastries.

Guided by Mrs Jeanne Cudmore the students worked without breaks from 8am until 3.30pm. Nearly 140 dishes were completed and boxed, of which 26 were sold to staff.

The remainder were taken to Te Puea Marae in Mangere by Mrs Helen Huitema on Friday afternoon to assist in feeding the 30 homeless families currently being housed and supported by the marae.
