Posted on October 20, 2020
A group of Year 11 Macleans College Māori students had the opportunity to participate in the Kei a tātou te ihi (KATTI) Māori leadership programme held at Waipapa Marae on Thursday 15 October.
The theme this year was “He moana pukepuke e ekengia e te waka” - “Rough seas can still be navigated”.
This programme is designed to help encourage tauira Māori about the navigation ahead as learners, the strengths needed to build their own metaphoric waka and envisage what career destinations are on offer to them.
The students who attended were Mason Blair (Snell House), Helena Croggon (Upham), Georgia Hewetson (Rutherford), Ezra Nichol (Hillary), Grace Pickering (Te Kanawa), Samuel Warren (Mansfield), Jake Welsh (Snell) and Kayla Winiata (Rutherford).
