Posted on June 13, 2017
On Sunday 11th June the Macleans College Music Department held a vocal concert in the Colin Prentice Auditorium.
Featuring all of the school’s vocal groups, a good sized audience was treated to a mixture of musical styles in an eclectic mix of languages, including, Maori, Japanese, Latin, Welsh and English.
Two hundred students took to the stage in final preparation for the competition season ahead with the Big Sing Regional competition to be held 13th-15th June and the Barbershop Nationals, soon afterwards.
Strong performances were given by a number of groups who will be hoping to impress their relevant judges in the coming weeks.
A diverse range of accompaniments were also a feature as students took to Marimba, Flute, Wind Chimes and Drum Kit to complement their performances.
