Macleans College continue to dominate in the sport of golf after winning the New Zealand Boys’ Secondary Schools Championship, played at Pukekohe Golf Club.

Macleans College entered one team into the girls’ division, and two teams into the boys’ division. The girls’ team members were Sally Lee (Upham House), Lucia Lee (Hillary) and Cherry Lee (Batten). Boys’ team two members were Ivan Yun (Te Kanawa) and Qiuran Zhang (Upham).

The top boys’ team of Stephen Liu (Mansfield House), Daniel Ko (Mansfield) and Samuel Ding (Upham) played exceptionally well over the two days and returned scores of two over and four under respectively. These scores were more than enough for the team to win the National Secondary Schools title.

Macleans College has now won this trophy three times in the last four years.

Congratulations to Daniel Ko who won two medals during the tournament. He was runner-up in the secondary schools boys’ individual gross and was runner up in the under 16 boys’ age group competition.
